Review Update

I have been back to Beaches Turks and Caicos twice since my original review (see below).  I have to say it just keeps getting better.

We have to start with the food because I am an admitted foodie  The food is amazing.  Every night we had an appetizer from the sushi restaurant before we headed to dinner.  The French restaurant was fantastic.  Just make sure you dine inside on nights when there is a show.  It can get loud on the outside patio.  I loved the brick oven pizza and the banana chocolate calzone was decadent.  With 16 restaurants to choose from there was always something available.

The staff should also be noted.  Never have I found a kinder more attentive staff at such a large resort.  They did a great job with kids of all ages.   Even the gardening staff went out of their way to be cheerful constantly smiling and greeting guests.

For Families or Adults - My husband and I went without kids and had a great time.  During the week I only saw one crying child and he just didn't want to get out of the pool.  Can't say I blamed him.  It was a gorgeous night and I didn't want to go to bed either.   There is so much for kids and adults to do there is now way you could possibly be bored.   They have 2 adult only restaurants so if you want a more mature atmosphere you can have it.  We loved it so much we vowed to go back again next year.

The activities and entertainment are also very good.  We enjoyed karaoke as well as several of the bands that played in the lounges each evening.  They had movies at night by the pool and guitar or saxophone players at the outdoor bars.  Club Liquid was always an option.  We also enjoyed the sesame street parade (yes without kids).  It was loud and fun.

Pools and beach.  There are lots of pools to enjoy.  The Italian Village has the most crowded pool, French is the most active and in the Caribbean Village there are quieter pools to enjoy.  The beach is narrow at the resort but there are always chairs available.  You can walk for hours on the beach and the sands is like powder.

Snorkeling and Diving -  I love to snorkel and Turks has some great reefs.  Since they are included you can enjoy them both.  If you are not certified you can be certified for the week for a small fee.  The video of the rays was shot at Coral Gardens a reef about a 5 minute walk from the resort.   The reef is right off the beach.

Beaches Turks Mega Fam Review

I had the pleasure of traveling to Turks for the Beaches Mega Fam to see the new Italian Village.  After we cleared customs at the airport in Turks our luggage was taken directly to our rooms at the resort.   We were escorted to club liquid where we were treated to champagne while we waited for our room assignments.   Our room was not yet ready so we went to lunch at Mario’s, a great Italian buffet.  By the time we finished lunch our room was ready and we were on the beach by 2:30pm.   We stayed in a honeymoon luxury room in the French Village.  It was a great location for families looking to be close to the water park.  My only disappointment with the room was that it had a French balcony.  I do like sitting out on a balcony.

I had been to the resort before so I wanted to do a bit of snorkeling.   There is a small reef right off the shore that has a few corals and fish, enough to keep me happy.  I previously snorkeled by boat and that is truly amazing.   I then had a drink at the pool bar in the French Village.  It is a much quieter pool than the one by the Italian village.  After we showered and changed for dinner we headed to the Caribbean Village lobby to view the parade.  It was adorable.  They had kids from the club dressed up as mermaids and pirates and all the characters were in attendance.   We wound our way around the resort and as we passed Arizona’s we stopped for dinner, just in time for the skies to open up.   After dinner we headed to the Italian Village for a chocolate buffet with a martin bar.   After the cocktail party we headed to Club Liquid.  This is great disco for both adults and children.  It was a bit loud for my taste but it would be great for teens and young adults.

The next morning we had to be at class at 8am so we chose to eat at the buffet in the French Village for breakfast.  As always the food was very good and the variety was extensive enough for the pickiest eaters.

The resort tour was in my opinion priceless because the differences between the categories finally clicked.  In the French and the Italian Villages the buildings the layout is brilliant.  In both villages you have a bedroom next to a living room with connection doors.  By booking the correct room category you are basically guaranteed connecting rooms.    For example in the French Village you take a Honeymoon French village Luxury Rooms and add a Living and now you have a French Village 1 Bedroom Suite.  You can add an additional bedroom and now you have a French Village 2 Bedroom Suite.  The bedrooms can be either a king bed or 2 double beds.  This is a great way to guarantee connecting rooms.   The same rule applies to the Italian Village.  Two Venetian rooms + a living are = a Naples Two Bedroom Imperial Family Suite.  Given the right bedding configuration it can sleep 10 and it comes with a butler.  This is a great way for friends and family to stay close and enjoy all that a butler has to offer.

It was a quick but valuable trip.
